The Rev. Brett W. Ballenger was born the youngest of five (three brothers: Bob, Steve, Rick and one sister, Donice) children in State College, PA., less than three miles from Beaver Stadium, at Penn State’s Main Campus. He has a strong love of animals stemming from his father’s pet store chain. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, school- and community-based choirs and bands, as well as his home congregation of Grace Lutheran (a congregation a little larger than Prince of Peace).
Guy W. Kirk – Director of Music
Guy W. Kirk has been Director of Music at Prince of Peace since 1986. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University, having graduated magna cum laude.
He furthered his musical studies at Westminster Choir College, the Kodaly Center of America, and St. Olaf’s College. He studied organ with J. Earl Ness and Dennis Elwell. His conducting teachers have included Mr. Gail Poch and Istvan Parkai. Among his piano instructors were Anne Cummings and Dr. William Carr.
Laura Glatz – Office Administrator
Laura Glatz has been a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for over 27 years. She holds a Bachelor Fine Arts degree in Communication Design from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate of Eligibility in Teaching Elementary Art for the State of New Jersey.
Besides working at Prince of Peace, Laura co-owns and teaches in her pottery studio “Brimstone Clay Studio”, in The Village of Vincentown, NJ.
Laura is married and has two grown children. Her family loves to travel and are often found visiting their vacation home in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina.
Laura enjoys writing, painting, photography, her family, friends, and her cat.
