THE FOLLOWING GROUPS PRACTICE ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS.....

Cherub Choir - Wed. 6:00-6:25 PM - is for 4, 5 and 6 year olds. An early childhood curriculum called God's Children Sing is used as the basis for their materials. The children learn songs, poems, dances, song/games as well as experiencing tonal and rhythm patterns. Steady beat is a main focus for this age, as well as having fun and feeling enjoyment, through a musical medium. Although this is not a performing choir, the children share their songs twice a year, usually January/February (once at 8:15 AM and once at 11:00 AM) and again in May (again at each service). Director - Guy Kirk

Rainbow Ringers - Wed. 6:30-7:00 PM - is for 5 and 6 year olds. This is an introduction to ringing using special color-coded bells. Children are taught basic ringing techniques. Although this is not a performing choir, the children share their songs twice a year, usually January/February (once at 8:15 AM and once at 11:00 AM) and again in May (again at each service). Director - Betty Wagner

Junior Choir - Wed. 6:30-7:00 PM - is for 2nd to 6th graders. No experience is necessary. Children will learn about the service, the fundamentals of music (learning to read rhythms and follow a piece of music). They sing at a service every 5 to 6 weeks, once at each service (8:15 and 11:00). Director - Guy Kirk

Laudate Ringers - Wed. 7:00-7:45 PM - a handbell choir for ringers 3rd grade and older. Younger ringers must have completed one year with the Archangel Chimers. Older students with some music-reading experience may qualify - these decisions will be made on a case by case basis. They perform in service once every 4-5 weeks, alternating between the different Sunday service times. Co-Directors - Guy Kirk and JoAnn Cubberley.

Archangel Chimers - Wed. 7:00-7:45 PM - is for 2nd graders and older beginners. No experience is necessary. These children will be introduced to ringing procedure, following a bell music score, reading basic rhythms and following a marked score. Once the Chimers become performance-ready, they generally ring every 5 to 6 weeks, once at each service (8:15 and 11:00). Director - Betty Wagner

Sounds of Glory Bell Choir - Wed. 7:45-8:45 PM - is open to adults and senior high age students. Sounds of Glory performs in service approximately twice a month (8:15 and 11:00). The ability to read music is not necessary at first; you will be taught what you need to know. Director - JoAnn Cubberley

Two other groups are sponsored by the Youth and Family Ministry. The Fish Troupe is composed of junior and senior high youth; and the Peace Worship Band welcomes all, regardless of age or skill level. Please see the Youth and Family page for further details.

I hope that you have found something here for you and other members of your family. Please join us for any of the above choirs whenever you are able. You need not wait until you are a member, THE DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN.

Thank you,
